Data-based Lessons, Free Datasets

Museums have SO many cool artifacts. Numerous scientists all over the world use these artifacts for their research. So why not your students too?

Four available investigations live in December 2021.

Research Quest provides a growing number of online lessons (bundled as topic-based Investigations) that fit your middle school science curriculum. Through research-based and classroom-vetted tools and resources these are great opportunities for teachers to leverage more real-world artifacts and data into your teaching and seriously fun for students!

Each Investigation has a range of lessons that get students engaged and up close with real-world artifacts from the Natural History Museum of Utah’s extensive collection.

Sadly, we all can’t go to UT on a class trip, but with these Investigations we can now access real-world science, data, and artifacts to enhance our learning anywhere :)

The best part is that they are actively making more right now! If you are interested in trying these out, I highly encourage that you visit Research Quest and login to start exploring these free resources today. If you are interested in being a test classroom for new Investigations, make sure to reach out to Madlyn Larson.

Check out the Research Quest growing library of hands-on, minds-on Investigations and let us (and the project team) how it goes!
